It's cutting them loose and having the pack run the rabbit until it gives up and goes in a hole or gets caught. And although the dogs usually don't catch it, they run like they want to. Just me and my pack of hounds, in any condition, on any day, in the roughest places I can find . . .

The Best Day of the World Hunt

Loaded up and ready to roll!
Tomorrow will be a blast.  I will get the chance to see a lot of friends, some that I haven't seen since last year at the ARHA World Hunt. Everyone will be in a good mood and excited to be there. All of the hours of training will pay off as we all will know our dog is ready to go.

BUT, the World Hunt doesn't start until Thursday. Tomorrow will just be about fun. It will be about talking dogs, laughing at jokes, poking fun of each other, and just being glad to be there.  The day before the World is always the best.

There will not be any losers tomorrow.  There won't be any winners either, but it won't matter.  We will head up to Taylor's Steak House in the evening for a big dinner and it will all be good.  All the dogs will be entered and it will all be good.  The only thoughts will be of the possibilities for success.  Who knows--this might the year for Jumpin Joe (or whatever this year's world beater is named).

I know there won't be much sleeping tonight.  Tomorrow I am going to the World Hunt.  I have been doing this for a while, but it never changes.  No kid ever went to bed on Christmas Eve any more excited than a Little Pack Beagler headed for the World Hunt.
