It's cutting them loose and having the pack run the rabbit until it gives up and goes in a hole or gets caught. And although the dogs usually don't catch it, they run like they want to. Just me and my pack of hounds, in any condition, on any day, in the roughest places I can find . . .

Uhhhh, Thanks

A big four wheel drive dodge truck came rumbling down the road.  The dogs had crossed the road and were hacking around a couple hundred yards on the other side.

Him:    Are you Jim?
Me:      Uuuhhh, yeah.
Him:    Your dogs are in my yard.
Me:      Sorry.
Him:    Oh, no problem.  We just heard all that noise down in the holler in the briars and thought it was coyotes.  We shot a couple of times and a couple of beagles came in the yard.
Him:    They came up in the yard.
Me:      Sorry.
Me:      If you don't mind, I will go see if they are still up there.
Him:    Oh, no problem.
Me:      Uhhhh, thanks

And that was how my night ended last night.  A nice guy, who was just trying to help.  I was so sure when he came flying up the road it was not going to be good.  You know how it is, no one ever shows up when you are running with good news.  Usually it is to tell you to get your #@%! dogs off my land.  Last night about 10:00 though, this guy was just being friendly.  I was so stunned, all I could say was, Uhhhhh thanks, but I sure meant it.
